SOS: Savvy Online Security |
Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library
1120 Stafford Road
Plainfield, Indiana 46168
New online security challenges crop up in libraries on a daily basis. How can you stay abreast of all of the threats? What happens when the technological innovations you think will benefit your library and your patrons have security vulnerabilities? The IOLUG Fall Program will deliver the expertise of library technology and security specialists to help you understand what your institution's security needs are and how to meet them. The day will begin with an overview of online security concerns by Brian Stone, owner of Firehawk Technologies, a company specializing in library technology solutions. Brian will draw upon his vast experience in library security, including directing the information technology department of a large public library system, to give us the big picture of what matters in online security. The afternoon sessions will focus more closely on a few of the hottest security topics libraries face today, including WiFi and RFID.
