Have you felt that the Presidential Debates lacked substance? Well, join us for a topic too hot for the Presidential candidates to address, The Great "The Web is My Library" Debate!
This program will explore the relationship between the physical and virtual manifestations of the services and resources that libraries provide. Following a stimulating morning of breakout sessions, Dr. Howard Rosenbaum (IU-Bloomington) and Steve Schmidt (IUPUI) will engage in a friendly debate. There will be an opportunity for you to share your ideas on the issue during the course of the afternoon.

The morning speakers and discussion groups will focus on a range of topics that address our theme, including:
- Finding a balance between building print and electronic collections
- The impact of direct marketing of traditional sources to end users
- Outreach and marketing of library services
- Negotiation with vendors
- Using "free" web resources
- Evolving user expectations
The afternoon session will feature The Great "The Web is My Library" Debate between Howard Rosenbaum and Steve Schmidt. Be prepared to add your voice to the conversation. Jeffrey Beck, Wabash College, will moderate.
