Speaker Nancy Buchanan, Coordinator of Electronic Resources from the University of Houston, will define electronic journals, present the major issues surrounding these journals, identify the major players (EBSCO, ECO, JSTOR, Project Muse, ProQuest, SearchBank, etc.), and more. |
| 11:15 | Acquisition and Development of Electronic Collections. After a break, Nancy will discuss how to find electronic journals; what is available (ASCII, full-text, image, etc.); how to pay for them; and options for bibliographic control. |

| 1:00 | Reality Bytes or Is It Bites? Steve Hardin from Indiana State University will lead off this session by suggesting methods for informing users of the availability of electronic journals. Steve will be followed by three librarians who will give brief "case studies" of their experience with electronic journals. These librarians are Jeff Beck from Wabash College, Dan Fast from the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, and Robin Crumrin from IUPUI. |
